In Summation won todays G2 stakes at Santa Anita covering 6F in 106.3. Anyone else think that is too fast? I mean, I realize these are good horses, but 106.3? Of course it was a track record, it has to be close to the world record. Obviously we have a lot to learn about these synthetic surfaces after this debacle at Santa Anita and drastic biases seen at Keeneland and Del Mar.

So I guess I should add to the above comment that Bob Black Jack, a 3 year old Colt set the work record for 6 furlongs Saturday at Santa Anita Speedway. I think I saw Jeff Gordon drafting with him on the turn for practice before the NASCAR season kicks off.
I hope other racing powers to be look at what has happened out in CA and put the brakes on switching to synthetic surfaces before we learn more about them.
