The Friday Big M card is the card from last week with the Cape and Cutter final, the Tender Loving Care final, and the winners over ( open ) trot.
The Cape and Cutter final for open filly and mare pacers features the long awaited match up of stablemates Stylish Solution ( B. Sears ) and Ulrica Bromac N ( T. Tetrick ), both trained by Nat Varty. Stylish Solution will be attempting to start a new win streak after having her last broken two weeks ago at 13.

After playing the Big M tonight I started looking at some races at Balmoral. The 8th race was a conditioned trot. What made this race noteworthy, atleast to me was the fact that a trainer had two horses, racing as an uncoupled entry in the race. Now, that isn’t really out of the norm. However, when the trainer is also driving one of his entries I see a conflict of interest.

At 11:15am eastern time Curlin will be headed to the starting gate in Dubai, not sure how many places you can find it live here in the states. I’m lucky enough to wager through NJ’s online wagering platform which offers Dubai and streams it live over the web. Lucky me will be watching.
The Aspiring Horseplayer has a nice piece about Curlin, including a couple videos. I guess he could be vulnerable, since the theory is he does everything better the second time. I’m interested to see how he performs outside of the states. Regardless, it is nice to see a top 3 year old come back to the races.

Since this guy seems to be the most searched term that leads people over here and his topics get read the most I figured why not post some videos of his efforts for those who haven’t seen his work.

Just watched this guy win a G1 over the dirt in Japan. He finished 4th in last year’s Dubai World Cup behind Invasor and Simon Bray of TVG believes they are sending him again. (more…)

Personally, I have some questions about the DQ in Laurel’s 10th. I flipped the channel after watching #2 All Smiles storm to the front and begin to draw off, knocking me out of the pick 3 ( I had #1 - #6 - #8 ). Never did I think the result was in question. It wasn’t until I went to make another bet that I found $63.00 present.

Panaramic Art ran his streak to 20 in a row tonight at the Big M in the 4Yo and under pacers Exit 16W series final. Never looked threatened. None of the other 3 I thought would contend ran well. Not sure exactly where this guy is headed, but he has been ultra impressive. He did it in 149.4.
