Heatseeker just won The Big Cap impressively. Another gem of a ride by Bejarano and a questionable ride by R. Baze. Baze stole a 24.xx opening quarter than decided to run the 2nd quarter in 22.xx and open up 10. Regardless, I didn’t think the ‘Jazz was everything he was cracked up to be after riding the speedway that used to be Santa Anita’s surface to victory in his latest. Probably a combination of the ride, the surface and the distance that did the favorite in. Very nice price on HeatSeeker, who paid $16.00.
Cat Manzi put on a driving display at Freehold today. I believe he won 5 in a row at one point. He won with 6 of his 10 drives and not with his usual 3/5′ers. Couple double digit winners.
Daheer was defeated at 1-5 in the Stymie at The Big A today. I posted Temporary Saint as my pick, I failed to remember that Chuckie goes brain dead from time to time and go brain dead he did dueling with Daheer through an opening quarter in 22.1 with a horse that had won his last from off the pace and a bunch of questions surrounding Daheer. Pino put Malibu Moonshine in position A and capitilized on the Lopez brain fart.
Anyone watch the Battaglia at Turfway today? That was a 3 year old filly making that move and mowing the 3 year old colts down from last to first. Her name is Absolutely Cindy and if at all possible catch a replay if you missed it. She is awesome. She doesn’t look to be able to run a lick on the real dirt, but on turf and synthetic she is a very nice horse.
