Head to Laurel today to try to shake this slump.
Race 6 is an allowance/optional claimer for older fillies and mares going 6 furlongs. Pretty good field and most have some sort of chance.
Our selection is #1, Pure Malt. Pure Malt goes out for Tony Dutrow and Jeremy Rose and should sit a nice trip along rail stalking whatever speed materializes. This horse ran some nice races last summer at Delaware and I thought her last was a bit better than it looked. On top of that, the Dutrow stable hasn’t been nearly as successful at Philly Park as they have in New York and elsewhere. I am unsure as to why though I have some theories, but I do know some of the horses that they have shipped to Philly have run poorly only to be shipped back to New York or down to Laurel and they woke back up.
Hopefully we get more than the morning line of 3-1.
Play of the Day ….
$50 to win #1 Pure Malt at Laurel Race 6.
