Can’t we admit the obvious IRONY and the parallels between Obama (Big Brown) and Hillary (Eight Belles)?

The term "Eight bells" can also be a way of saying that a sailor's watch is over, for instance, in his or her obituary. It's a nautical euphemism for "finished".

1) Hillary will stop at NOTHING to get the nomination, even if it hurts herself and her party....

(A fine filly like Eight Belles will stop at nothing even if she breaks her own legs and dies.)

2) Hillary is madly trying to run with the BOYS in a race she will do ANYTHING it takes to win -- for the power and the glory and to prove she can do it no matter what the injury to herself or others.

(Eight Belles -- fighting an artificial turf and a herd of massive males, tried to win over the huge and powerful Big Brown)

3) Hillary wanted everyone to bet for Eight Belles to win (not to place) and everyone who trusted her lost.

4) The filly was fatally crippled, so they euthanized her. Will this happen to Hillary's campaign or her potential presidency? She has the will, but does Hillary have the strength to avoid going down at the finish line as well?

I personally put my money on Big Brown and guess what... I won.

I'm betting on Obama. I don't trust Hillary or her judgment.

(All respect to women running for office -- Feinstein, Thatcher, etc.... this is not about women... it's about Hillary's bedlamite character and lack of strength needed to finish the race and run the free world.)

Quoting Brian, a blogger on ABC:

“The parallels are a little weird and I hate even bringing them up. Big Brown had only had only run three races and people were questioning his experience. Eight Belles was the only filly in the race and comes in second.”

Haha - you go Phil. We had a similar problem on our site with an unidentified wierdo pretending to be someone and posting all manner of strange posts.

Two tips: use "whois" to check out their IP address, and suspend comments if they really get on your nerves. Here's to free speech!

I wasn't sure whether to allow this comment nor whether or not to reply as I have my doubts whether it is actually Jayne Vaders but the what the heck, perhaps it is. I don't have a low opinion of you personally, you might be the sweetest person in the whole wide world. It is said that your horses are well cared for and in overall good condition.

That being said, if I was caught doing something illegal in my profession, which is in many ways governed by the State of New Jersey and some federal environmental agencies, I wouldn't be given more than two chances and that first "mistake" would come at a hefty cost.

The drug positives are one thing. I believe you cast the shadow upon yourself at times with how horses you are caring for run. If a horse here and there was claimed from you and than ran poorly, that would be one thing. If a horse here and there that you claimed all the sudden improved, that would be another. However, it isn't random horses, it is almost all of them in both instances. I'm sure some you claim are simple issues. Stomach problems, teeth, shoeing etc. However, I just can't believe that all the other horsemen are so incompetent that you can improve even 50% of the horses you claim or start for the first time. I know too many people involved with the sport to believe that. I hang out at the bar with a blacksmith you use! I cashed a bet on Imanewtontoo when he made his second start for you on his advice.

And obviously, you aren't the only person making these "mistakes".

It is terrible. I can't play it. I did ok at the Santa Anita meet ( I posted a few selections on your blog ) but I was hardly considering the horses form. I was using trainer intentions for 75% of my handicapping. Perhaps that is the way to combat the form reversals over the synthetic surfaces, because I was getting good prices betting horses that were making positive trainer/form moves as oppose to a horse's paper form if you will.

Amen, brother. Proud Spell, Panty Raid, Country Star, Pyro - the list of favorites that turned in clunkers running over synthetics is nearly endless.

Seems to me that synthetic specialists have a tad easier time running over true dirt (provided their pedigree is strong enough for it) than dirt runners have going over synthetics.

All of this already has me worried about Curlin in the BC Classic at Santa Anita (getting way ahead of myself, admittedly). Although he has at least worked well over it. Then again, so had Pyro.

I detest synthetics as well. About the only one I think is safe to play is Hollywood - which might as well be "chalkywood" on most days - but hey, at least they run to form. Although, speed hasn't seemed to carry very well there past 6 furlongs so far this meet.

lol

Funny thing is most of the traffic I get comes from people searching harness racing stuff. I would have thought the opposite, but unless a thoroughbred is really making news, such as War Pass losing, or Big Brown at Gulfstream, the standardbreds get all the action.

I'll be at Delaware Park pretty often once the meet opens. I'm thinking about going to Pimlico for Black Eyed Susan day.
