We shook the two race losing streak on Thursday with Intriguing Lady. Today we’ll head to Philly Park for a N3x for older horses going 6F …

Good looking race with a few contenders. #1 Power Jeans goes out for Mark Shuman, he comes off a no-excuse clunker, atleast as far as paper form and trip go. I’m not convinced he’s as good as fast dirt as he is on synthetics, off dirt or grass. #3 Luvtoluvyoubaby is a horse I think has a good shot in here. An improving 4 year old facing mostly elders who have probably reached peak, this one probably has room to improve. #5 Crafty Tricker has run some big races, included a 2nd to multiple grade 1 placed and 3rd in the BC Sprint Talent Search. He seems to be off form a bit though. #6 West Coast Flier was a stakes winner at 3 who looks to be round into form. #7 Casual comes off two solid wins of Alw foes.  #8 Wild Geese goes for T Dutrow and Vega and comes in off a solid win over a starter group.

My choice in here is the probable favorite and captain obvious horse in here, #2 Taurus. He comes off a strong 2nd at this level against Cognac Kisses, who returned to validate not only the speed figure but the race when he finished 2nd in the What A Summer stakes at Laurel to G1 placed Ah Day. He makes his 3rd start off the lay off and should be able to control the race from the inside. Not sure what kind of price he’ll be, that Beyer sticks out like a sore thumb, but hopefully Casual, Wild Geese and maybe West Coast Flier will take some money and we’ll get 1-1 or 3-2.

Taurus is sharp as a tack right now and he rolled to a front running victory in 109 flat today at just over even money. The play of the day stats are far exceeding what I expected when I started this, hopefully someone is following along. I don’t see too many pick oriented sites keeping track of their progress in wide open public view, I wonder why?
