The George Levy Memorial, Panaramic Art, & The Big M …

All big stories tonight in the harness racing world. Lets start off at Yonkers, discussing the card they are presenting which features the opening leg of the Levy Memorial for open pacers. Than we will head over to the Big M, were Manhardt will try to get some better cover and storm home in the winners over pace. Even Woodbine gets in on the action featuring their open pacers in the Spring Pacing Championship.

Yonkers kicks off the big night with race 5, the first division of the first leg of the Levy Memorial for open free for all pacers. This race is highlighted by Maltese Artist, who will be driven by Greg Grismore. Others of interest in here are Palone Ranger, who finished 2nd to Mr. Feelgood in the Presidential Final at the Meadowlands. Forenzic Z Tam also goes in here, he was 4th in last years Breeders Crown final for 3 year old pacers.

Races 4 and 6 are consolations of the Sagamore Hill series, for 3 and 4 year old pacing colts.

Race 7 is the 2nd division of the Levy and Special Report highlights this one. He was 3rd in the aforementioned Presidential Final and 2nd to Mr. Feelgood in the Isle of Capri final at Pompano. He comes off of a 2nd place finish to Mr. Feelgood last week in the winners over at the Meadowlands. I feel this is the weakest of the divisions, and I kind of like Home Run Hudson and PSILuvuheartbreaker to run well here.

Race 8 is the Sagamore Hill final. These dudes have been battling it out for four weeks now. I really think Bob’s Alibi is best in here and he draws a decent enough post. Art’s Image is my 2nd choice but he must overcome post 7, which won’t be easy. I like Herzon to put in a nice run at a price.

The 9th race is a 3rd leg of the Levy. This leg features Mr. Feelgood, who has won the first two important series of the year for open pacers, the Presidential at the Big M and the Isle of Capri at Pompano. This race also features the return of Panaramic Art, who is going for his 21st win in a row. I didn’t see it, but one of his best races came at Yonkers last year early in his streak.

Over at the Big M, race 3 kicks of the nice races. Race 3 is the high price claimers, the $75000/$100000 variety. Carrs Character is back to defend last weeks title, while I like Fenman in this spot.

Race 5 is the winners over pace, which features Manhardt. He should Manhandle this group, since it isn’t the A-1 variety that usually lines up on Saturdays at the Big M. Most of the heavy hitters are camping out at Yonkers.

Race 10 is the 4 year old open. Art at Heart is most likely best in here. He exits the 4 Leaf Clover final, which was won by last year’s 3 year old Breeders Crown Pace winner Artist View.

To the north, Woodbine features the Spring Pacig Championship for open type pacers. The first division, race 3,  features Tigerama, who will be going for his 4th in a row and all four have been of the jogging type. It doesn’t look like tonight will be any different.

Race 6 is the 2nd division. Secrets Nephew, who won a division of this series last week, is back here and looks like he may be best again in the weaker of the two division.
